How the right accessories can elevate your wedding look

Your bridal fashion journey doesn’t end when you find your dress, as your look won’t be complete until you buy (or borrow) the right accessories.

“Accessories are a way to elevate your bridal style and let your personality shine,” said Marissa Rubinetti, COO and VP. of Merchandising at Kleinfeld Bridal. “Today’s brides have the flexibility to wear different accessories throughout the day, from a traditional lace veil for the ceremony to a dramatic cape for the after party.”

Personalize a tulle veil from Staud with your initials and an embroidered heart on the front of the blouse or on the back of the mid-length veil. $195, Staud Staudt

Inspired by Sarah Jessica Parker, the Sarah Jessica Double Sided Italian Satin Gloves by Wing & Weft Gloves, shown in fuchsia, are also available in white, white, black, gold and red. $595, Wing & Weft Gloves, 265 W. 37th St. #11E Wing & Weft gloves

For your something blue, Rubinetti suggests earrings in blue topaz or a gemstone that matches the flowers and decor. Pearls are another traditional gemstone.

“To make pearls more modern, look for jewelry and accessories that use pearls themselves in a new form or in an unexpected material,” said accessories designer Jennifer Behr.

Inspired by the Netflix series Bridgerton, brides are incorporating gloves into their ensembles, adding romance, sophistication or even an edgy vibe.

Katie Sue Nicklos, CEO of Wing & Weft Gloves in Manhattan, said shorter gloves complement dresses with embellished sleeves or shorter lengths, while longer gloves can add drama to simpler dresses.

The classic veil can be styled in different lengths, decorated with pearls, crystals or lace. For a more sentimental style, ask your mother, grandmother, or other relative if you can remove some of the lace from their wedding dress to trim a simple tulle veil.

Consider fun and trendy statement pieces that will look great in your photos. Rubinetti suggests an oversized coat or cape, or an embellished denim jacket as a look.
