Is she out of pocket for these out of office emails?
A corporate employee has sparked controversy after discovering her boss reprimanded her for writing creative emails outside the office while taking time off.
In a viral video posted on TikTok, which has garnered 1.9 million views, Thara Moise, who also works as a professional chef, admitted that she has received a lot of “talking down” from her boss because of her “unprofessional” announcements. .
“I’ve been writing these emails outside of the office and they’re really cool,” she said, explaining that she envisions “fun, little stories about adventures involving squirrels and sharks” that recipients can read “when I’m not there. .”
According to Moise, her boss said her out-of-office notes were “not funny” or “professional” and asked her to stop doing “stupid things like that.”
In response, Moise said she started making her stories outside the office “more serious,” which still didn’t sit well with the head honcho.
Then, after a second scolding, she tried to make her emails more educational, offering “wellness tips,” such as ways to stretch while sitting at a desk or practicing mindfulness during work.
Again, her boss criticized the e-mails for being inappropriate for the workplace.
