What a “jerk”.
A German reality TV star who dated the world’s most famous sperm donor, Kyle Gordy, has called the relationship a “nightmare”, citing his rudeness and refusal to stop hitting other women.
“He’s a nice guy, but he lacks relationship experience,” Annika Phillips, 39, said of her fling with the baby-dough factory, who she reportedly dated on the reality TV series 90 Day Fiancé.
Los Angeles native Gordy, 32, is best known for fathering 80 children and counting worldwide through remote and in-person insemination.
He offers his services for free with the goal of helping families struggling to conceive and encourages interested women to contact him on Instagram.
Despite hitting on dozens of women, the long-distance procreator paradoxically didn’t have much luck with the ladies until he cast Phillips on the aforementioned reality show, which explored their relationship from beginning to end.
Phillips, who works in programming, had contacted the standing sperm bank on Instagram in early 2023 asking for its services.
She said she noticed a “spark” between them and soon, the lovebirds were talking “for hours at night before falling asleep”.
“It really helped me unwind from a stressful day and it was something I looked forward to,” said Phillips, who, after a few months of digital dating, decided she wanted to meet in the flesh.
The pair originally planned to meet in Rome, but the angry girl said she had “cold feet and cramps”.
Despite this failed date, her feelings for Gordy only grew stronger and the pair eventually met in person in Malta, filming their first official date for the show.
Cracks began to form as Phillips realized she wasn’t the only woman in his life. “I thought we were in a committed relationship when I first met him in person,” Phillips recalls. “But then he told me that just a week ago, he had performed a personal insemination.”
The “disgusted and hurt” reality contestant added: “My feelings were crushed and I couldn’t believe he basically lied to me.”
While many people use work as a cover for cheating, sleeping around was Gordy’s vocation.
If that wasn’t enough, Gordy didn’t seem to understand “basic courtesies, like opening doors or pulling out chairs for me,” and Phillips was uncomfortable with “how he treated people.”
“During a photo shoot by the sea, he walked forward and didn’t seem aware of anyone around him, even on difficult paths,” she said. “When the catering service arrived, he didn’t thank anyone.”
“He doesn’t seem to have any manners,” added Phillips, who noted that her boyfriend was often seen in “sleek and rough clothes” and grooming his balls “in public.”
Gordy, who calls himself the CEO of sperm donation on Facebook and owns the website Be Pregnant Now, even had a “point system” where he would judge his other half on her behaviour.
He would stop the kisses if she didn’t get “enough points”.
However, after eight months of engagement, the pair called it off because Gordy said he would not “consider stopping to donate sperm to other women”.
“He wanted to help people get pregnant, either artificially or naturally, and that made it really difficult for us to move forward,” she said. “It was a little difficult for me, because I often worried about being judged and we had a lot of arguments about his donation.”
She knew “deep down he couldn’t let go”, calling their relationship a “nightmare from start to finish”. In other words, he donated his sperm but not his heart.
While the romance didn’t work out, Gordy claimed that “my experience with Annika was definitely one I’ll remember.”
The serial seed-spinner, who has 15 children on the way, said he has faith that “love will happen” despite the obstacles – and even said he would be willing to return donations to achieve his dream.
Interestingly, Gordy took a break from sperm donation late last year, before taking it up again in January 2024 for just a “few” select women.
However, this goodwill gesture reportedly made sex “non-existent”, according to Gordy, who said masturbation had become “a chore”.
